At Eclectic Consulting, supporting the Armed Forces community isn't simply something we do, it's part of who we are.
We are proud to announce that we have formally signed the Armed Forces Covenant and, in recognition of our commitment, have been awarded the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Bronze Award.
The signing ceremony took place at the South West Regional Defence & Security Cluster, hosted by BattleLab at Dorset Innovation Park. The Cluster brings together industry, government and defence organisations to drive regional innovation, strengthen collaboration, and build resilience across the defence and security sector. It was a fitting venue for an occasion centred around partnership and shared commitment.
Signing the Covenant represents more than a pledge, it reflects our values. Our founders come from an Armed Forces background, continue to serve through the Reserves, and now have children beginning their own journeys within the military. The Armed Forces community has always been part of our DNA, and this formal commitment is a natural extension of who we are as a business.
Receiving the Bronze Employer Recognition Scheme Award is an important milestone, but it is only the beginning of our journey. We are already looking at how we can strengthen the support we provide to serving personnel, veterans, reservists and military families, while creating meaningful opportunities within our business and beyond.
Peter Hanson, Director of Eclectic Consulting, said:
“One area I am particularly passionate about as the founder of an SME is exploring how we can think differently about supporting the Armed Forces community. While every business can make a difference individually, I believe SMEs have an even greater opportunity when they work together. By combining our resources, sharing expertise and collaborating, we can deliver more effective, sustainable support than any one organisation could achieve alone.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise, but it should also be a catalyst for action. We look forward to continuing our journey, learning from others, and working alongside partners across the defence and business communities to make a lasting impact.”
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Peter Baines OBE, Head of Future Force Development, for attending the signing event and helping to make the occasion so special. We'd also like to thank Emily Kadoch and Wessex RFCA for organising such a fantastic event, and Ant Sharman for introducing the signing ceremony and sharing the Armed Forces values with everyone in attendance. Their support and commitment helped make the day both meaningful and memorable.
