Pete Hanson
Pete established Eclectic Consulting following a diverse military and civilian career, supported by extensive academic study. Through these experiences, he saw first-hand how taking a holistic view and drawing on an eclectic mix of frameworks, models and leadership approaches helped organisations overcome complex challenges and perform more effectively. This insight ultimately inspired the creation of the business.

Pete began his career in the Royal Navy as an aircraft engineer. Driven by a desire to broaden his experience, he pursued a distinctly non-traditional path. Alongside his core role, he deployed in austere environments, operating with Royal Air Force squadrons on missions often associated with the Army. He also held a range of varied roles, including serving as a college course manager mentoring future Royal Navy leaders, acting as a technical subject matter expert for project teams, and later transferring to become a weapons engineer.
His military career came to an abrupt end following a sporting injury that led to medical discharge. However, the breadth of experience across disciplines, environments and leadership styles proved foundational. Not just in his leadership approach, for which he was recognised by senior military leadership through the Queen’s Birthday Honours but in developing his belief that there is rarely a single right way to solve a problem and the most effective solutions often combine multiple perspectives.
Pete then transitioned into project management, delivering work across procurement, system integration and infrastructure. He has worked with a wide range of organisations, including government, Big Four consultancies, and small to medium-sized enterprises. His pragmatic approach has helped organisations overcome complex challenges, address critical business issues and deliver meaningful outcomes.
While working with SMEs, Pete developed a strong interest in business management. He has supported organisations in identifying strategic opportunities and addressing key challenges through practical, realistic actions that improve both business performance and stakeholder relationships.
To complement his experience, Pete continues to develop professionally, holding qualifications in APM, Agile Project Management, PRINCE2, MSP and Change Management, alongside an FDENG in Aeronautical Engineering and studying for a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Outside of work, Pete enjoys cooking and baking, often hosting dinner parties and BBQs. To balance this, he also enjoys cycling, the gym, and walks in the countryside.

Alice Jones
Alice is a co‑founder of Eclectic Consulting and leads the firm’s Strategic Talent Access offering.

During her RAF career, Alice led ICT engineering teams in tri‑service and high‑readiness environments, delivering complex engineering activity and managing deployed communication sites. Her experience spans information systems, cyber, information management, radio and satellite technologies, with deployments across multiple operational theatres. Her career took her around the world, working in diverse cultural and organisational settings and gaining a deep appreciation of how capability is built, tested and applied in real‑world conditions.
After leaving the military, she worked across SMEs in HR and recruitment, including a veteran‑focused agency, an engineering organisation supporting a major defence partner and a national charity. Having navigated her own transition, she brings a grounded understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing people leaving the forces — and the untapped capability they offer employers.
Alice helps organisations rethink capability, widen their talent pools and shape role criteria so they attract the people they genuinely need. She works closely with hiring managers to challenge unhelpful defaults and create the conditions for people to succeed, unlocking stronger and more sustainable results. For service leavers, she translates military experience into clear commercial value, supporting confident career decisions and smoother transitions.
This philosophy sits at the heart of Eclectic Consulting’s Forces Talent Pathway — a capability‑based approach that builds access to talent pipelines organisations often overlook and supports both client and candidate through probation to ensure long‑term success.
Outside of work, Alice enjoys getting away in her camper van, wild swimming and long walks with her cocker spaniel, Hugo.
